Subway convention day #1

Bummer. I was supposed to play golf on a PGA rated WDW course and got rained out. I rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon and hope it works out.

Some interesting things in the convention today like talking with people who own 8 or 20 or 40 or 55 stores. It's pretty amazing. One group here in Orlando owns 85 stores. Whew!!!

Well that's about it for today.

WDW #7 Animal Kingdom & MGM

Wow. Another day of lots of fun. Today we went to Animal Kingdom. Granddad rode on a ride called Mt. Everest. It was the fastest roller coaster ride I have ever been on. We went forward and backward and up and down and part of the time we were in the dark. It felt like it scrambled my brain. Then we went down the Kali River rapids and got splashed by a waterfall.

After that we went back to Magic Kingdom to have lunch with Cinderella at the royal castle. And we got surprised with more visits. Alice in Wonderland, Belle, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty all came to visit during lunch. We took some more pictures.

Then we went over to MGM to go on the Tower of Terror, but we got rained out. We did get to go visit Ariel, then we came back to the hotel and had supper.

Today was out last day to go to the parks. Tomorrow our business meetings start. We will probably still do some posts and add more things as we think of them.

We love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WDW #6

We spent the day at Magic Kingdom. Amber and Keith arrived today amd met us there this afternoon. We got soaked on Splash Mountain, laughed at the comedy central presentation by Roz and Mike from Monstor's Inc., and had fun at the 3-D movie of Mickey and his Philharmagic orchestra. We also rode the Peter Pan ride and Buzz Lightyear and ate lunch at the LIberty Tree Tavern. I have some pictures downloaded now and I'm going to try to add some to the blogspot.
Hey, it worked. I'll add more pictures tomorrow.

WDW Day #4 and #5 - EPCOT

Yesterday, we sent to church at the building that was directly across the street from the Orlando temple. We had to take a "taxi". It was actually more like a limo service. The driver took us over in a Lincoln Continental. I was quoted one price over the phone, but it ended up being twice that. Anyway, we gave him a Book of Mormon and he gave me some golf tips. He is a PGA instructor as well.

We spent today at Epcot. We went "hang gliding" over the California coast; went on a space "mission to Mars"; while eating breakfast in "Norway" had visits from Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, Snow White and Jasmine. Earlier, we had our picture taken with Mary Poppins. We ate dinner in "Canada" and watched the fireworks from a Pub in "England". It was another fun day.

WDW Day #3 - Typhoon Lagoon

5:30p Well, we slept in late, had a good breakfast and then caught the bus to Typhoon Lagoon. We had fun going down some of the rafting water slides and in the giant, and I mean GIANT, wave pool. We grabbed a quick lunch and were on our way to the Crush and Gusher watercoaster when the storm clouds came and they closed down all the water rides. Bummer. After the Crush and Gusher, I was headed over to go snorkeling with the sharks. I even brought my own snorkel gear. Darn. I missed out in Australia years ago and missed out here. Maybe next time.

We're headed over to the Polynesean for a Luau next. We're hungry hope it's good!!!

Walt Disney World Day #2

It is now just past midnite and Mom still has her eyes open. We started the day with a great buffet breakfast, then went to MGM studios. They have a new car stunt show that was loud and awesome. We even saw Herbie get cut in two.
We came back to the hotel for a late lunch and a nice long nap. We were exhausted. Then it was up about 5p and off to the Magic Kingdom. On the way over, we were the only passengers on the bus. In talking with one of the "cast members" on the bus, she asked if we were on our honeymoon. I guess it still shows that we're in love after 31 years together. We ate dinner at the Crystal Palace with Tigger, Eyore, Pooh and Piglet. After that it was on to see Captain Jack Sparrow at the Pirates of the Carribean, the electric light parade and then one of the biggest fireworks displays we've ever seen. The park was open extra late for on property guests tonight. We went to Monstor's Inc. comedy house and Stitch's space adventure. But, of course, the last event of the night was ................. Buzz Lightyear where I was victorious one more time over the Zurg (and your Mother).
Tell the grandsons that I bought a special Captain Jack sword to add to my Granddad's treasure chest of boy stuff.
Mom added a Mickey Mouse pinky ring to the dangly Mickey Mouse earrings she bought yesterday.
Well, it's 1a Florida time. I don't think we'll be getting up early tomorrow. We're still working on pictures.

We're Here - Day #1

We arrived safely in Orlando this afternoon, with our luggage, but not my golf clubs. They got lost somewhere along the way. We are staying at the Dolphin hotel. We had dinner tonight at the Garden Grove with visits from Pluto and Goofy. If we brought the right camera cords, we'll post pictures tonight or tomorrow. While checking in, Mom noticed a typo on their welcome letter and made sure to point it out.

Great news!!!! The front desk just called and my golf clubs have arrived. More importantly, Mom's pillows that were in my golf bag have arrived.

Thanks to Emily for setting this up. This will be great fun.

Well. it's going on 11p here. I think that we will call it a night. We've got to have energy for tomorrow. We're going to MGM Studios.

Love you,

Dad
